As of 2022, flights from Senai International Airport have flown to 13 domestic destinations and 4 international destinations, including Bangkok (Thailand), Surabaya and Jakarta (Indonesia), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). The Malaysian government has also recently announced plans to further expand both domestic and international routes from this airport.

Furthermore, the airport’s expansion efforts for 2026 include the inauguration of routes to Tiruchirappalli (India), Hong Kong, and Chiang Mai (Thailand). Looking ahead to 2027, new routes will connect Guilin (China), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Yangon (Myanmar). Anticipated developments indicate that Senai International Airport is poised to augment its current roster of four international destinations to include fifteen cities within ASEAN nations and an additional eleven international cities.

A short 4.7-kilometer drive leads to the Skudai toll booth on the North-South Expressway, providing access to destinations in both directions. Moreover, a 5-kilometer drive from here takes you to the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link and the Senai-Desaru Expressway toll booths.

On another front, the 192-kilometer double-track railway project connecting Gemas to Johor Bahru is anticipated to be completed by late 2026, featuring 13 stations. These stations include Segamat, Genuang, Labis, Bekok, Paloh, Kluang, Mengkibol, Renggam, Layang-Layang, Kulai, Senai, Kempas Baru, and Johor Bahru. This railway will reduce travel time to just 1 hour and 40 minutes from Gemas to Johor Bahru and 3 hours and 30 minutes from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur.
